aka AKA Parsons Pink China China. This important heritage rose has been cultivated in China for centuries and was introduced to Europe around 1750. It has been used extensively as a 'parent' breeding rose. Small semi-double blooms of pink that fade as they age. Nicely fragrant with light green foliage and few thorns.
Old Blush We are not expecting to have this plant in the foreseeable future Gallica. Large fragrant flowers that are fully double appear throughout summer and are set against grey-green foliage. The blooms are a rich purple-crimson tone with fiery red centres. Strong upright habit and a good tolerance of poorer soils. Suitable for a robust hedge. From England around 1848. Orpheline De Juillet We are not expecting to have this plant in the foreseeable future Rugosa. This beautiful rose has a rich fragrance which is considered to be one of the best in the rose world. Large, double, bright red flowers which darken towards purple in the hot sun. Dark green bushy foliage and an upright habit. Originating from France in 1901.
Parfum De l Hay We are not expecting to have this plant in the foreseeable future China. Beautifully shaped small flowers that are shaded a creamy buff-yellow with hints of pink. Nicely fragrant. The foliage is dark green and quite twiggy with almost thorn-less stems. A sweet little rose with buds that are perfect for a button-hole. 1884.

Rugosa. The pretty pink blooms on this robust Rugosa rose have serrated frilly edges a bit like a Dianthus. Leathery dark green foliage and an upright habit. Free flowering from summer through to autumn. From the Netherlands - 1923. Something a bit different to ooh and aah over. Deciduous

A relatively thorn-less rose with flat quartered flowers of soft velvety violet with just an amazing perfume. Free flowering right through to autumn. Damask. An ancient Rose that has an uncertain history but could possibly be from Iran. The dark pink-purple rosette shaped blooms are borne on slender stems in summer and have a strong fragrance. Responds well to hard pruning. To quote the Rosarian Peter Beales "well worth a place in any garden"
Rose de Rescht We are not expecting to have this plant in the foreseeable future aka Gallica Gallica. AKA Gallica An ancient rose (12th -17th Century) that is the stuff of myth and legend. It is hardy with few thorns and matt green foliage. The semi-double blooms are a very striking combination of crimson, pink and are pleasantly scented. Summer flowering. The name Mutablis means 'changeable' which is what really describes the flower colour best. This rose is also described as the 'Butterfly Rose' as the single flowers float and dance above the foliage like a - you guessed it - a butterfly.
